Japan Diary: Borbs

The one thing I love about Japan: all them birbs. They have so MANY of them, chirping their days away. Oh wait, that's just the crosswalk sound...

Writer's Note:

As a disclaimer, a "mejiro" is an actual Japanese bird, but a "meguro" is not. While it does literally translate to "black eye", the name "meguro" refers to a neighborhood in Tokyo, as opposed to a punch-happy bird. 

And Sarah is quite right - the crosswalks here in Japan make bird-like chirping noises whenever it is safe to cross the street. It's a weirdly reassuring sound that I'm probably going to miss after returning to the U.S.
